Rebuked by many for his idealistic pride and courage to get things done, Grand Moff Rafran Matok had thought he had seen it all at the age of 75. Called an idealist and even a traitor among his vital allies, Matok continues to take pride in the forces he aids in commanding even under the pressures of bureaucracy and the politics of the Remnant.
Living through four decades of war, Matoks core values may seem to be conquest of the common Imperial enemy, the Galactic Alliance, but instead he values the pride of the Empire more then anything else. If leaving a battle would still keep the Empires honor intact instead of a needless slaughter, he would make that preparation at once. As well, unlike the previous commanders before him, Matok does not simply lead his forces and hope his soldiers obey; instead he takes an individual pride in everyone of them, making sure everyone is well fed, well trained and ready for the unexpected. He strongly believes that each soldier should want to fight for their state out of their own free will without anyone to persuade them to change sides or give into the enemys propaganda.
Although he is old and slightly weak on his feet, he commands just as a keen young commander, in hopes of one day aiding the Imperial Remnant to gain its respectable spot as the lone force in the galaxy. The Shadow Army will grow strong, and it will defeat all obstacles. |
