This is a highly important guide and I thought I'd post it up on my blog space here for people to see:
Guide to enable FSAA with Post Processing in SWG on Nvidia videocards
Here is how you can force SWG to use Anti-Aliasing when Post Processing is enabled on an Nvidia video card (8xxx series or later) using nHancer:
1. Download and install the latest Nvidia ForceWare drivers. It might not work with drivers earlier than 180.85.
2. Download and Install the latest version of the Nvidia Profiling Utility nHancer.
3. Download the custom nHancer SWG Profile provided here.
4. Extract SWG nHancer profile Star_Wars_Galaxies_Full_Post_Processing_and_FSAA_NHancer_Profile_v2_0.zip.
5. Start Nhancer.
6. After Nhancer has finished scanning for games, go to the nHancer menu and click on Profiles->Import.
7. Select the appropriate profile you have just extracted (there are two profiles, one for nHancer 2.4.5 and another for nHancer 2.5.1 and later) and make sure that Override predefined Settings is checked (in case the profile doesn't work for some reason or you wish to do it manually, try to create a new profile, add swgclient_r.exe to it, set the Anti-Aliasing Compatibility mode to 0000f0c1).
8. Make sure Profile can be activated manually is checked.
9. On the right side, adjust your FSAA & Anisotropic Filtering settings that you wish to use with SWG (the profile sets them as 4x FSAA with Transparency Supersampling & 8x Anisotropic Filtering by default so it provides decent performance).
10. Start Star Wars Galaxies.
11. Log in your character and open the SWG in-game Options->Graphics.
12. Make sure the boxes Enable Post Processing Effects, Enable Bloom and Enable Heat Shimmer are checked and Enable Antialiasing is unchecked.
13. Click OK.
14. FSAA should be working properly with Post Processing Enabled now (even in the inventory, examine window, space UI etc.!).
15. Task out and close nHancer.
Enjoy the great image quality of FSAA together with the nice processing effects SWG has to offer.
